Peels are generally painless, yet effective, chemical treatments that are used to remove the damaged outer layers of the skin resulting in enhanced and smoother skin texture. Peels are indicated for facial blemishes, fine lines and wrinkles, mild acne scarring, uneven skin pigmentation or if you simply want to rejuvenate your skin. Peels will be customized to your current skin conditions and individual concerns.
Alpha / Beta Peel
Paragon Med Spa’s Alpha / Beta Peel is an intermediate treatment for a wide range of skin types. This peel combines alpha and beta hydroxyl acids, substances that act as catalysts to cause skin rejuvenation and production of new skin cells at the surface. Additionally, these compounds minimize surface lines, smooth rough texture, clear acne and fade hyperpigmentation. The Alpha / Beta Peel starts with a consultation with one of Paragon’s experienced estheticians to determine if it is appropriate for your skin type and condition. The first step is a gentle cleansing to remove makeup and impurities so that a proper analyzation can be done. The skin is then prepped with a mild exfoliation before the peel is administered. The peel will be applied quickly and will remain on the skin approximately 3-5 minutes. During this time, the practitioner will constantly assess your skin for changes and reactions. Some tingling may occur as the peel solution is sitting on your skin which is a normal sensation. After thoroughly removing the peel, the skin is soothed and calmed with a Vitamin C Firming masque that replenishes hydration and restores a firm, youthful and radiant complexion. A cosmetically elegant (not pasty) broad spectrum SPF 50 sunscreen is applied as a final step. This service may be combined with a microdermabrasion treatment or dermaplaning for a deeper exfoliation. Service price range: $85.00 – $125.00.
Sensitive Skin Peel
Do you have sensitive skin? At Paragon Med Spa, our NEW Sensitive Skin Peel is gentle enough to experience prior to big event with no down time. This peel is a combination of niacin and lactic acids, substances that slough off dead skin cells to promote a brighter, clearer and more even-toned complexion. Until now, persons with sensitive skin or with conditions such as rosacea could not experience a peel due to irritation. That has changed with the introduction of this beneficial and available peel at Paragon.
After cleansing the skin to remove makeup and impurities, the peel will be applied and remain on the skin for up to 2 minutes. Then a mild buffing will be performed to stimulate circulation to the skin’s surface which results in a beautiful, healthy glow. The skin is then hydrated and masked, and as a final step in the treatment, moisturizer and sunscreen are applied. The Sensitive Skin Peel may also be applied after a microdermabrasion or dermaplaning treatment. Service price range: $100.00-$125.00.
Pigment Balancing Peel
The pigment balancing peel is a potent, customizable chemical peel that targets hyperpigmentation (brown spots or discoloration) to improve the uneven appearance of sun-induced damaged skin. Hyperpigmentation affects most people, regardless of skin type. It appears as blotchy, uneven colored areas on the face or as visible well-demarcated sun spots. The pigment balancing peel combines high performance brightening and anti-inflammatory agents with an exfoliating acid solution that promotes the formation of new cells at the skin’s surface, thereby improving skin radiance and clarity.
As with any of the peels offered at Paragon Med Spa, clients preparing for this peel should avoid sun exposure and should stop using Retin A for at least one week prior to treatment. A complete pre-peel consultation will be conducted to determine if you are an appropriate candidate. The pigment balancing peel has the benefit of little downtime, although mild irritation and redness may be evident following the treatment. The skin care specialists at Paragon will ensure that you are thoroughly educated to care for your skin post-procedure.
For the treatment of sun damaged or hormonal skin discoloration and to improve radiance and an even-toned complexion, schedule your consultation today with the experts at Paragon Med Spa to see if you are a candidate for the pigment balancing peel.
